Pemba Eco Lodge is located on Shamiani Island, a secluded paradise off the southern coast of Pemba. This lodge is a sanctuary for travelers looking to disconnect from the modern world and immerse themselves in a truly sustainable, off-grid environment.

Constructed entirely from local materials like coconut wood and thatch, the bungalows are designed to blend into the natural landscape. There is no air conditioning or television; instead, guests enjoy the natural cooling of the ocean breeze and the sounds of the tropical forest.

The lodge operates with a deep respect for the environment, utilizing solar power for lighting and a gray-water recycling system. The cuisine is "farm-to-table" (and sea-to-table), with meals prepared from ingredients grown in the lodge's organic garden or caught by local fishermen using traditional methods.

Shamiani Island is surrounded by vibrant coral reefs, making it a perfect spot for snorkeling and kayaking. It is also one of the few places in Zanzibar where you can witness the rare coconut crab in its natural habitat during guided night walks.

Pemba Eco Lodge offers a rare opportunity to experience Zanzibar as it was decades ago—raw, beautiful, and peaceful.
